While most of humanity have faith, or at least belief, in gods, direct influence of their power rarely touches the lives of humans. Some see gods as no different to the ancient spirits of the land that the druids commune with, while others believe they are vastly different. The will of the gods is conveyed indirectly through portents interpreted by their faithful, or via enigmatic inhuman beings known as Angels. These ephemeral messengers of the gods only appear in times of great need or strife, and with a specific task. They rarely engage directly with humanity, and dissipate back into the aether once their task has ended.
