No barrier shall abjure the pursuit of excellence.
A recent addition to the Dominion Guild Charter, The Cerulean Concord is an agreement struck between four grand archmagi, creating a mutually beneficial network to support mages wishing to work in open waters, outside the purview of the Grand Academies of Kalais, Alyria and Malburg. Founded on the simple principle of enabling great minds the means to pursue their interests, The Cerulean Concord provides access to skills, resources, and just enough structure to enable arcane endeavours in the most remote confluences.
The Concord is less a unified institution and more a managed collection of towering egos, their intermediaries, and those hoping to benefit from the boundaries they push. It boasts a retinue of hunters and collectors who provide these high mages with protection, rare reagents, and excellent test subjects for their newest enchanted items. Separated from the arm of law, oversight, and pesky moral objections, members can pursue the highest arts of magic and be the first to enjoy the boons that progress uncovers. For those who do not have the means to petition magi of a Grand Academy, membership within The Cerulean Concord is one of the few options for higher magical education or solutions only an archmage can provide.
Anyone with an interest in furthering or facilitating arcane endeavours, or even simply profiting from them, can find a place in the ranks of the Concord. Harvesting and delivering the burning heart of a demon lord before it cools, translating a treatise written in a language unspeakable by human tongues, and repairing shattered leylines spilling unbridled arcane energy after a magister's experiments are all part of daily dangerous mundanity for new recruits. To the ire of the established status quo, The Concord openly embraces the progress of magic in any form, and by any hand. They have brought mages and their secrets down from their ivory towers and into the reach of the many.
Guild Structure
It is fairly easy to join the ranks of the Concord as an Initiate. Adepts are always looking for competent assistance in their magical forays and discoveries. Initiates need not have any magical aptitude as they handle most of the mundane guild business, ensuring that the research of their local Adepts is facilitated through anything from acquiring their resources and reagents to delving into danger to uncover pertinent secrets. Adepts act as apprentices to the Magisters, organising initiates for their projects and leading research initiatives themselves, as well as providing lectures and magical assistance to the people, for a small fee of course. Magisters are the personal apprentices to the founding Archmagi, having proven their magical prowess and expertise in their favoured area. They have full authority to act on their behalf to manage guild business, and enjoy a certain amount of leniency when it comes to magical mishaps overflowing into the public eye due to the goodwill the Concord's banner fosters.
People of Note
Adrian Du Gévadam
Well respected and well spoken alumni of the Silver Spires, Adrian Du Gévadam is a talented young Magister with a penchant for theoretical thaumic debate. An apprentice to Archmage Valios, he has spent years lecturing on arcane holism, theoretical transference and applications of gravitational energy. A perfect mind to assist with the expedition's logistics and lead the Concord's contingent.
The Founders
Colleagues from the Grand Academy of Kalais, the founders expertise covers a wide gamut of arcane theory. The four founders consist of; Raxaana ei-Salar - evocation specialist, Hildegard Kovak - leading mind for experimental metallurgical enhancements, Tomislav Kovak - known for their research into the applications of arcane influence in gestalt psychology, and Valios de Rochefou - published author of a rather divisive paper on hypothetical leyline dynamics.
Louise Boreau
Serving as an Apprentice to the Kovaks, and Magister within the Guild. After being unjustly expelled from the Grand Academy and subsequently the Silver Spires for ethics concerns she has flourished under the auspices of the Concord. How the fools at the academy laughed at her ideas of creating new and improved forms of life. Her stunning advances in chimera research sure showed them. She is always in need of new specimens to further push the boundaries of the natural world.
Rolande Montmorossy
Known for their elaborate performances from noble courts to simple fishing docks, and even remote locales such as Seahaven, Rolande is a master of flashy shows of arcane infused entertainment. Though only an Adept, they embody the Concord's core ethos of bringing magic to the people. They sail aboard the Ouroboros, a guild funded vessel outfitted with a modest library, stage for educational lectures and facilities for basic arcane instruction.
