The volcanic plains of Thaklaz were once the seat of Lord Kalbazdu'un. The Demon Lord was overthrown when Gwvere ingenuity gave humanity the firepower to take the upper hand in a long brewing rebellion. Nowadays, Thaklaz tinkerers are world renowned and their geothermally powered workshops produce much of Ur'vael's gunpowder and firearms. Thanks to support from holy knights of The Stravin Empire all remaining demonic influences were purged from the region. Long ago Thaklaz was ruled by a human monarchy, but when the demons invaded the royal line of Sandemar was lost. With no true heir able to be found the free people of Thaklaz opted to try a version of the Alyrian method of rule by council to the dismay of the surrounding kingdoms. They did eventually appoint a Lord Protector, Hugo De Geer, to streamline governance.
